The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredinho Saraiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Leite in the 4th minute of the match. Alfredinho Saraiva made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Cauan Matos sent off a good shot on target. Jarbas Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tião Loyola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jarbas Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Tião Loyola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean Campidelis went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Jean Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tião Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean Campidelis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tião Loyola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Tião Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jean Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Tião Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cauan Matos's late challenge caught a Riconada EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cauan Matos helped the player get up and apologised. Cauan Matos hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jarbas Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th match minute, Laras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Jean Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 36 minutes on the clock, Juninho Cardoso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of Laras booed when Riconada EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Rodolfo Aparecido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laerte Leite took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredinho Saraiva. Alfredinho Saraiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laerte Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laras's Tião Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Vianna in the 54th minute of play. Alfredinho Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Leite in the 56th minute of play. Cauan Matos got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Riconada EC's Edu Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laras's Luís Fernando Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edson dos Santos hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the game, Laras's Luís Fernando Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredinho Saraiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 80th minute, Luiz Fabiano Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tião Loyola was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After 84 played minutes Riconada EC got a freekick which was hit by Jean Campidelis. After having played for 85 minutes, Luís Fernando Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fernando Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tião Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. If Jean Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
