After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Pedro Luís Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube de Regatas do Flame's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Silves AD's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Toscano came free, but Sílvio de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Pedro Luís Toscano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sílvio de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 38th minute Pedro Luís Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Toscano in the 44th minute of the match. If Jano Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Pedro Luís Toscano made the kick off in the second half. Clube de Regatas do Flame's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
