Silves AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laerte Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Laras's Laerte Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Genílson Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, José Maria Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the game, Laerte Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Sílvio de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sílvio de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fernando Ribeiro in the 41st minute of the match. After the first half Laras were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laerte Leite made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Laerte Leite kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sílvio de Sousa. That made the score 1-4 in the 54 minute of play. Luís Fernando Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Silves AD's Sílvio de Sousa got control of the ball when Laerte Leite tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Fernando Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Sílvio de Sousa made a huge save. In the 61stth minute of the game Laerte Leite who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Silves AD's Sílvio de Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 63rd minute, Laerte Leite reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sílvio de Sousa. The goal made the score 1-5. Laras's Laerte Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The corner led to Laras's Kaká Fontes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 71 played minutes Laras got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Fontes. Laerte Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sílvio de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sílvio de Sousa made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Luís Fernando Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Silves AD's zone, Laerte Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio de Sousa came out of the goal and Laerte Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Silves AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luís Fernando Ribeiro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Laerte Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Laras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Silves AD throughout the match.
