Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Emílio Queiroz got the match started through his kick off. In the 14th minute, Baltazar Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Sena in the 18th minute of play forced Verde's goalkeeper Armandinho Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emílio Queiroz went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Eliézer Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Vladimir Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Jacinto in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Guaratiba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Antunes to maneuver through the defense. In the last second Vladimir Tavares throw himself and got hold of the ball when Emílio Queiroz in the 32ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Armandinho Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silas Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silas Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guaratiba FC's Abelardo Koehler got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armandinho Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Guaratiba FC defense, Emílio Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimir Tavares. The Guaratiba FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimir Tavares should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Guaratiba FC booed when Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silas Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Sá having to interfere. Armandinho Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Sena in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th play minute Conrado Sarmento came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Armandinho Sá. 3-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademir Mello during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guaratiba FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ademir Mello hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Nilton Almeida sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Guaratiba FC's Vladimir Tavares didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Queiroz in the 84th minute of play forced Guaratiba FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes, Zé Carlos Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verde and the Guaratiba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. A well placed Silas Sena short distance shot in the 91st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Guaratiba FC played a much better game than Verde and deserved their victory. The Verde players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
