In the 18th match minute, Oiticica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. Petrolina FC's Luiz Guilherme de Amorim was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marquinhos Sena in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Raúl Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Barros in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 33rdth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme de Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oiticica FC's Marquinhos Sena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Maia in the 34th minute of play forced Oiticica FC's goalkeeper Marquinhos Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raúl Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Pinheiro in the 36th minute of play. Marquinhos Sena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amorim went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Marquinhos Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Luiz Guilherme de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Willian de Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oiticica FC's goalkeeper Marquinhos Sena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marquinhos Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A long shot from Cacá Bastos in the 68th minute of play was well struck, but Raúl Paiva made a really good save at the right post. Luiz Guilherme de Amorim struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Marquinhos Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petrolina FC. After having played for 71 minutes, Luiz Guilherme de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petrolina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Carlos Alberto Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oiticica FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Wilian Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The supporters of Petrolina FC booed when Oiticica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Petrolina FC's goalkeeper Raúl Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dráuzio Pinheiro. After 85 played minutes Petrolina FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Guilherme de Amorim. If Luiz Guilherme de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
