Jemuz's Dalmo Falcão got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Canoeiros's Arlindo Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Porto in the 43rd minute of play. Marcos Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Perez having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Schmidt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Porto in the 52nd minute of play forced Canoeiros's goalkeeper Arlindo Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Canoeiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anderson Arósio to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Jemuz's Antônio Porto tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the game, Antônio Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Arlindo Travassos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arlindo Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléberson Palmeira in the 65th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Dalmo Falcão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jemuz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 72nd minute, Dalmo Falcão made a precise shot to the right of Arlindo Travassos. Canoeiros's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Jemuz's Edson Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Edson Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jemuz fully deserved thier win.
