After 4 played minutes Skibiriba got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Paes. Milosz Absolwent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Godoi in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Skibiriba's Dênis Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Milosz Absolwent made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lauro Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Pires having to interfere. Glauco Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Ernesto Pires made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, Skibiriba's goalkeeper Ernesto Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glauco Tavares. Ernesto Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glauco Tavares in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Pires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glauco Tavares in the 22nd minute. Ernesto Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glauco Tavares in the 28th minute of the match. Skibiriba's Bebeto Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cláudio Freire took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Milosz Absolwent. Milosz Absolwent dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 36th minute Cláudio Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Milosz Absolwent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th match minute, Jacarepaguá AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aílton Machado to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Skibiriba's Bebeto Batista got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Cláudio Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Xavier charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Xavier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Skibiriba getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Francisco Xavier hit a great ball. Ernesto Pires acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Guto Arantes. The Jacarepaguá AC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Skibiriba were winning 0-2.

After a rather tough play, Skibiriba's Dorian Paes got a free kick in the 54th minute. Glauco Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute, Skibiriba's Bebeto Batista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. The supporters of Jacarepaguá AC booed when Skibiriba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Glauco Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skibiriba's Ernesto Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Remo Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Glauco Tavares put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ernesto Pires. Dorival de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Glauco Tavares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Pires was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. After 86 minutes Skibiriba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guto Arantes who took care of the corner kick. Guto Arantes made a great header on Jacarepaguá AC's corner, it was just that Skibiriba's Ernesto Pires managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Glauco Tavares put it in 4-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ernesto Pires. Duarte Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
