In the 18th minute Diguinho Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Durvalino de Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Adriano da Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dino Massa in the 24th minute. Adriano da Rocha didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 27th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Gugu Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meninos do Morro F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pedro Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Oliveira in the 33rd minute of play forced Fenix FC's goalkeeper José Pedro Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dino Massa's late challenge caught a Meninos do Morro F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Massa helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Fenix FC got a freekick which was hit by Dino Massa. Adriano da Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fenix FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Meninos do Morro F.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
