Tiaguinho Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denílson de Souza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mandaguari SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cangaira the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Arruda in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalmo Godoi during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cangaira booed when Mandaguari SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denílson de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Godoi in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Robinho Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mandaguari SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cangaira the free kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelo Arruda made a kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Denílson de Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tiaguinho Almeida scored 2-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denílson de Souza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Mandaguari SC's Bernardo Montenegro got control of the ball when Zé Carlos Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitinho Alves hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
