Luisão Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the game, Serafim Massa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Araucarias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mulekada United FC the free kick. Víktor Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Araucarias's zone, Faustão Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisão Simões came out of the goal and Faustão Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mulekada United FC's Narciso Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Ribeiro in the 22nd minute of play. Faustão Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 27th match minute, Araucarias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Víktor Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes in the game, Faustão Cerezo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luisão Simões having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mulekada United FC's goalkeeper Narciso Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Araucarias's Luisão Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Araucarias from getting a goal against them. Faustão Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Simões having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flavio Iztal was the one to do the kick off. Luisão Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandão Baptista in the 52nd minute of play. Luisão Simões came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Mulekada United FC's Faustão Cerezo. But to his dismay, Faustão Cerezo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Araucarias's Luisão Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Baptista in the 61st minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Mulekada United FC's Mendebal Sabino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisão Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mulekada United FC's goalkeeper Narciso Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Iztal in the 74th minute of play forced Araucarias's goalkeeper Luisão Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Araucarias's Nestor Tepedino got a free kick in the 79th minute. Flavio Iztal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Simões having to interfere. Faustão Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Luisão Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Araucarias booed when Mulekada United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mendebal Sabino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narciso Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Ribeiro in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Faustão Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Araucarias's Nando do Nascimento got a free kick in the 97th minute. Mulekada United FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
