Tiaguinho Porto came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Batateiros Sport Club's Caco Travassos. But to his dismay, Caco Travassos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Caco Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaguarary FC's Roberto de Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22ndth minute of the game Magno Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaguarary FC's Tiaguinho Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Roberto de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jaguarary FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Batateiros Sport Club the free kick. Zé Roberto Correia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flávio Alves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of Batateiros Sport Club booed when Jaguarary FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flávio Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Zé Roberto Correia came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Jaguarary FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Roberto Correia couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Magno Paraense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Jaguarary FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vicente Amaral who took care of the corner kick. Vicente Amaral made a great header on Batateiros Sport Club's corner, it was just that Jaguarary FC's Tiaguinho Porto managed to reach the ball for a save. If Flávio Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Tiaguinho Porto managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Batateiros Sport Club's Magno Paraense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A nice corner shot did that Vicente Amaral got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tiaguinho Porto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tiaguinho Porto didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Batateiros Sport Club's Magno Paraense shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 73rd match minute, Jaguarary FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Abraão to maneuver through the defense. Tiaguinho Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magno Paraense's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Flávio Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Alves having to interfere. Caio Maciel hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jaguarary FC's zone, Caco Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Porto came out of the goal and Caco Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caio Maciel hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Flávio Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Abraão in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Batateiros Sport Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
