But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Salgado couldn't finish the play. When Mirinzal SS's Jeferson do Vale, in the 24th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mirinzal SS. Mirinzal SS's Dé Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Mirinzal SS from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Dé Faria successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The wind increased when Cacá Pombal made the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Mirinzal SS got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Sousa. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Róbson de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atauba EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbson de Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Atauba EC's zone, Jeferson do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlinhos Freitas came out of the goal and Jeferson do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Carioca charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abelardo Carioca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mirinzal SS's Abelardo Carioca got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 75th minute, Mirinzal SS's Júlio Catarinense ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlinhos Freitas. Carlinhos Freitas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. In the 83rdth minute of the game Cacá Pombal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mirinzal SS's Dé Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Róbson de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dé Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Róbson de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atauba EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mirinzal SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Mirinzal SS.
