Luiz Fernando Quirino scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilmar Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Vito Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raí Cruz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Pedro de Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar Toledo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 36 minutes into the game, G E Gálatas's Edinho Mangueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilmar Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After 40 minutes, Cássio de Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rive and the G E Gálatas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando Quirino in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilmar Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iuri Brito hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Rive players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. G E Gálatas were winning 1-3.

Chicão da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando Quirino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilmar Toledo, 1-4. In the 55thth minute of the game Luiz Fernando Quirino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rive's Gilmar Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The G E Gálatas fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when G E Gálatas's Luiz Fernando Quirino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 65 minutes, Pedro de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G E Gálatas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Siqueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Samuel Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Rive's zone, Luiz Fernando Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilmar Toledo came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro de Brito scored 1-7 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilmar Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Siqueira in the 87th minute of play forced G E Gálatas's goalkeeper Francisco Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Rive got a freekick which was hit by Vito Vale. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro de Brito got free with Gilmar Toledo in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Pedro de Brito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The G E Gálatas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-8. When the final whistle sounded G E Gálatas left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rive.
