Pedro de Brito's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, José Vítor Silva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pedro de Brito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of José Vítor Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 11 played minutes Pacu got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Borges. Pedro de Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but José Vítor Silva made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro de Brito in the 15th minute of play forced Pacu's goalkeeper José Vítor Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. José Vítor Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Marcinho Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pacu's protests and gave Marcinho Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. When Pedro de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the G E Gálatas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro de Brito couldn't finish the play. G E Gálatas's Francisco Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedito Rosado in the 22nd minute of play. Valdemar Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdemar Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Valdemar Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edinho Mangueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Vítor Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edinho Mangueira ran back to his position shaking his head. The G E Gálatas fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when G E Gálatas's Pedro de Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Manuel da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Luiz Fernando Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro de Brito got free with José Vítor Silva in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio de Lima made a kick off. José Vítor Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro de Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Benedito Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Félix having to interfere. After 56 played minutes G E Gálatas got a freekick which was hit by Josué Godoi. Pedro de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro de Brito struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. José Vítor Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for G E Gálatas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio de Lima in the 69th minute of play forced G E Gálatas's goalkeeper Francisco Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pacu booed when G E Gálatas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Vítor Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro de Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. José Vítor Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fernando Quirino's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. With 78 minutes on the clock, Caio Zanette commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for G E Gálatas! In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Pacu. Ediberto Azevedo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Francisco Félix. 1-1. After having played for 82 minutes, Cássio de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Vítor Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fernando Quirino's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. José Vítor Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney Britto in the 91st minute of play. José Vítor Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edinho Mangueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Vítor Silva having to make a save.
