CONFIANÇA and the Azevedo SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Azevedo SS booed when A. D. CONFIANÇA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lino Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Fabiano Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Régis de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azevedo SS's protests and gave Régis de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Régis de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roger Leme might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raphael Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger Leme ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabiano Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Cruz in the 25th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Edmundo Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute, Mazinho Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Roger Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roger Leme in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raphael Coutinho saved Azevedo SS from getting behind. Fabiano Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Edmundo Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raphael Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roger Leme to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiago Gabriel Nogueira during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. CONFIANÇA's Roger Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 70 minutes, Roger Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A. D. CONFIANÇA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raphael Coutinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roger Leme's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Azevedo SS's Raphael Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Leme in the 82nd minute of play. When Raúl Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the A. D. CONFIANÇA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Mesquita couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute André Luiz Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 86 minutes, Roger Leme made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Azevedo SS's Raphael Coutinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabiano Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. A. D. CONFIANÇA had played much better football throughout.
