When the match had been going on for 21 minutes, Leonor Futebol Clube's Juninho Catarinense got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mário de Medeiros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Veloso in the 25th minute of play forced Leonor Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Hélio Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes in the game, Tiago Negri fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mário de Medeiros having to interfere. Cido Miranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Mário de Medeiros made a huge save.
