In the 15th minute, Denílson Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Paulo de Sousa during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Perdidos FC! 19 minutes into the game, Virgílio Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perdidos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Mônaco F. C. the free kick. After 19 played minutes Perdidos FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Veloso. After 20 minutes, Zé Pedro Meirelles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Perdidos FC and the Real Mônaco F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 25 minutes into the game, Real Mônaco F. C.'s Guto Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mário de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Horácio Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Horácio Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Perdidos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Vinhas couldn't finish the play. Zé Pedro Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Herminio Jullian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perdidos FC. The supporters of Real Mônaco F. C. booed when Perdidos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Real Mônaco F. C.'s zone, Horácio Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herminio Jullian came out of the goal and Horácio Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Real Mônaco F. C.'s goalkeeper Herminio Jullian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Pedro Meirelles. In the 46th minute, Perdidos FC's Virgílio Veloso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Herminio Jullian. Herminio Jullian yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Pedro Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Horácio Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perdidos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horácio Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herminio Jullian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The attack was good, but when Horácio Vinhas in the 95th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Perdidos FC's Virgílio Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horácio Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perdidos FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
