If Sílvio Luís Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Vianna in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Donato Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco Ipameri's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Joel de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco Ipameri's protests and gave Joel de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Quandus booed when Vasco Ipameri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luís Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Diogo Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Donato Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Donato Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Diogo Negri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Paulo Vargas to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Donato Penha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Diogo Negri was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th match minute, Quandus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Vargas to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donato Penha in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo Negri saved Quandus from getting behind. Vasco Ipameri's Felipe Maia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Diogo Negri in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 63rd match minute, Quandus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Penha in the 63rd minute of play. Sílvio Luís Tepedino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Diogo Negri made a huge save. Quandus's Diogo Negri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Quandus from getting a goal against them. After 72 minutes, Eurico Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quandus and the Vasco Ipameri players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diogo Negri made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Donato Penha sent off a good shot on target. Donato Penha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Diogo Negri made a huge save. When Donato Penha came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Vasco Ipameri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Penha couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, Donato Penha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diogo Negri. Quandus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Penha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
