Luizão Arce started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute Diamantino Rodrigues suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 7 minutes, Isaltino Simão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fanáticos and the Cristal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristal made a substitution. Silvério Abraão replaced Diamantino Rodrigues. The supporters of Cristal booed when Fanáticos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Serafim Tasso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luisinho Cavalcante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jaime Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Branco in the 22nd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Silvério Abraão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cristal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fanáticos the free kick. The supporters of Fanáticos booed when Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristal's Jaime Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Branco in the 29th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Fanáticos's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Arce came free, but Luisinho Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luizão Arce fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cristal's protests and gave Luizão Arce a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Arce. Luisinho Cavalcante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvério Abraão's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. If Benê Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Cristal's Felipe Medeiros seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Felipe Medeiros the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cristal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Felipe Medeiros had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, Fanáticos's Benê Eger got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jaime Tinoco.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Branco to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Fanáticos's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Abraão came free, but Luisinho Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Silvério Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cristal's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvério Abraão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisinho Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After some careless play in the Fanáticos defense, Silvério Abraão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisinho Cavalcante. The Fanáticos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisinho Cavalcante should have stopped the shot. Jaime Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Simões in the 84th minute of play. If Silvério Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Cavalcante was a little too slow when José Pedro Botelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cristal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
