Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nestor Toscano made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Walmir Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Otávio Porto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catanduva FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tostão Braga hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes, Catanduva FC's Silvinho Félix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubens Trigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catanduva FC reached it. Otávio Porto struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Rubens Trigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catanduva FC. Dorival de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. If Nestor Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CR Vila Xurupita's zone, Fábio Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Trigo came out of the goal and Fábio Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tostão Braga's late challenge caught a Catanduva FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tostão Braga helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to CR Vila Xurupita getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tostão Braga hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes, Catanduva FC's Diguinho Massa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubens Trigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catanduva FC reached it. Silvinho Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute of the match CR Vila Xurupita got a corner. Catanduva FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Germano Araújo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led CR Vila Xurupita's Germano Araújo to fire away a dangerous shot which Ivo Leme despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Otávio Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rubens Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Catanduva FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Toscano came free, but Ivo Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, CR Vila Xurupita's Nestor Toscano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivo Leme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Otávio Porto was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Waldemar Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Waldemar Perez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rubens Trigo. That made the score 0-2 in the 55 minute of play. CR Vila Xurupita's Rubens Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save CR Vila Xurupita from getting a goal against them. After 62 minutes CR Vila Xurupita's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Diguinho Massa who took care of the corner kick. When Maicon Cosme fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CR Vila Xurupita's protests and gave Maicon Cosme a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes CR Vila Xurupita got a freekick which was hit by Maicon Cosme. Diguinho Massa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Catanduva FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Silvinho Félix hit a great ball. Ivo Leme came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by CR Vila Xurupita's Nestor Toscano. But to his dismay, Nestor Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Fábio Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Rubens Trigo made a huge save. Ivo Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CR Vila Xurupita's Rubens Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Porto in the 84th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Waldemar Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The long shot by Silvinho Félix in the 92nd minute really tested Rubens Trigo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 93 minutes into the match, CR Vila Xurupita's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Porto came free, but Rubens Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Otávio Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The CR Vila Xurupita fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Catanduva FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
