With an all-out effort, CR Vila Xurupita's Delfim Trancoso threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nestor Toscano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The CR Vila Xurupita players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cuiabazinho SC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nando Arantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Cuiabazinho SC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Gaúcho. The supporters of CR Vila Xurupita booed when Cuiabazinho SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Delfim Trancoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Arantes in the 68th minute of play forced CR Vila Xurupita's goalkeeper Rubens Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sílvio Luiz de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cuiabazinho SC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
