Telmo Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Hermes in the 13th minute of play. Telmo Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alessandro Hermes went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Garatuba SS defense, Alessandro Hermes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Silveira. The Garatuba SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Silveira should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute, Luiz Fernando Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Telmo Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Coataquara left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Garatuba SS.
