Eusébio Salles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Felippe Tavares came out and tried to block the shot, but Eusébio Salles slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. 8 minutes into the game, José Carlos de Salles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arrebol SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Salvador City the free kick. The supporters of Clube Salvador City booed when Arrebol SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Clube Salvador City's Kiko Siqueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário Trancoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Clube Salvador City's Felippe Tavares got control of the ball when Márcio Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felippe Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Salles in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Clube Salvador City booed when Arrebol SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Cláudio Mattos put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mário Trancoso. Felippe Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When Cláudio Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Clube Salvador City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Mattos couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caco Furtado in the 25th minute of play forced Arrebol SS's goalkeeper Mário Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Clube Salvador City were awarded a corner. Luís Gustavo Linares went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 27th match minute, Arrebol SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Zonta to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Clube Salvador City's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Salles came free, but Felippe Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Luís Gustavo Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Eusébio Salles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Felippe Tavares. The goal made the score 3-1. Vítor Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Felippe Tavares made a huge save. Márcio Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Felippe Tavares made a huge save. Cláudio Mattos took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Trancoso. Mário Trancoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cláudio Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. Eusébio Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Tavares having to interfere. After 57 played minutes, Arrebol SS's Eusébio Salles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Felippe Tavares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arrebol SS reached it. Tadeu Schmidt's late challenge caught a Clube Salvador City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadeu Schmidt helped the player get up and apologised. Márcio Varela struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Felippe Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arrebol SS. Diamantino Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 64 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Arrebol SS's Diamantino Zonta fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Márcio Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Tavares having to interfere. Tadeu Schmidt was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 67th minute, Tadeu Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Mattos in the 68th minute of the match. Dida Goiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Diamantino Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Caco Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Salvador City's protests and gave Caco Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute Márcio Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Márcio Varela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arrebol SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Varela in the 84th minute of play forced Clube Salvador City's goalkeeper Felippe Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th match minute, Clube Salvador City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Furtado to maneuver through the defense. If Márcio Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Vítor Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrebol SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felippe Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felippe Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Salles in the 90th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Clube Salvador City defense, Diamantino Zonta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felippe Tavares. The Clube Salvador City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felippe Tavares should have stopped the shot.
