A.J. 夏侯惇 showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a little luck, Arrebol SS's Mário Trancoso got control of the ball when A.J. 夏侯惇 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Redent Evil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mário Trancoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When José Carlos Galvan fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newtown EC's protests and gave José Carlos Galvan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, José Carlos Galvan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Elói Schmidt put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Mário Trancoso. 18 minutes into the match, Márcio Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leopoldo Seco. Newtown EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Márcio Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Vítor Queirós hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Salles in the 23rd minute of play forced Newtown EC's goalkeeper Leopoldo Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor de Souza got free with Mário Trancoso in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, Arrebol SS's goalkeeper Mário Trancoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elói Schmidt. In the 28th minute, Newtown EC's Vitório Gonçalves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mário Trancoso. Mário Trancoso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. With his leg Mário Trancoso managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Newtown EC's Victor de Souza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Elói Schmidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mário Trancoso having to make a save. After 42nd play minutes Victor de Souza shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Mário Trancoso and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Arrebol SS booed when Newtown EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Redent Evil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aloísio Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eusébio Salles to make the kick off. Newtown EC's Redent Evil got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Diamantino Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Arrebol SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Zonta couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Victor de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Trancoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. With a little luck, Newtown EC's Leopoldo Seco got control of the ball when Márcio Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75th minute, Vitório Gonçalves made a precise shot to the right of Mário Trancoso. Arrebol SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. Márcio Varela hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The Newtown EC fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Newtown EC's Victor de Souza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 9-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 85 minutes into the match, Newtown EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Salles came free, but Leopoldo Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor de Souza in the 92nd minute of play forced Arrebol SS's goalkeeper Mário Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Trancoso having to interfere.
