OvO FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caco Furtado in the 14th minute of play forced OvO FC's goalkeeper Joélson Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 minutes of play, Clube Salvador City's Cláudio Mattos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joélson Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joélson Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Furtado in the 31st minute of play. Joélson Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Enéas Capixaba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felippe Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Joélson Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Gustavo Linares in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Clube Salvador City were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enéas Capixaba to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Bruno Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OvO FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Salvador City the free kick. After a rather tough play, OvO FC's Bruno Pontes got a free kick in the 52nd minute. OvO FC's Joélson Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save OvO FC from getting a goal against them. Clube Salvador City's Caco Furtado suffered a concussion after 58 minutes and had to leave the field. Clube Salvador City made a substitution. José de Brito replaced Caco Furtado. Clube Salvador City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Enéas Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. OvO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Enéas Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felippe Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joélson Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Gustavo Linares in the 83rd minute. When Ronaldinho de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the OvO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldinho de Senna couldn't finish the play. Joélson Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Goiano in the 91st minute of play. Clube Salvador City played a much better game than OvO FC and deserved their victory. The OvO FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
