Felippe Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Amaral in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Cristian Bueno notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Clube Salvador City's Felippe Tavares. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cláudio Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Real Minas's Délio de Brito got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Afonso Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clube Salvador City's Felippe Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Maia in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute of the match, Cristian Bueno got a very nice opportunity to score, but Felippe Tavares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 72 minutes of play, Real Minas's Afonso Maia made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felippe Tavares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute Oséias Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes Real Minas got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Bueno. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Cláudio Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Salvador City's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilmar Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Afonso Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Minas's Oséias Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clube Salvador City's Felippe Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséias Vidal in the 88th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Real Minas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Clube Salvador City:s goal. In the 94th minute, one of Clube Salvador City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clube Salvador City. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Real Minas. Elder Peres stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Felippe Tavares. 2-4. Doriva Amaral's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Felippe Tavares firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Real Minas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
