In the 18th minute, Caco Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aguilhadas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 26th match minute, PIRIPERI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Carioca to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, PIRIPERI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Abreu came free, but Horacio Diegotxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, PIRIPERI FC's Carlos Carioca got a free kick in the 34th minute. The supporters of PIRIPERI FC booed when Aguilhadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Lucas to make the kick off. Célio Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match, Enio Abreu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Horacio Diegotxe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aguilhadas's Maurinho de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Lucas in the 59th minute of play. With a little luck, PIRIPERI FC's Horacio Diegotxe got control of the ball when Célio Salgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caco Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 99th minute of the match, Caco Senna tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Horacio Diegotxe saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Aguilhadas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aguilhadas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
