After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Luiz Paulo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aguilhadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Paulo Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horacio Diegotxe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Carioca during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to PIRIPERI FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Frank Carioca hit a great ball. PIRIPERI FC's Horacio Diegotxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Abreu in the 6th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Paulo Paulista got free with Horacio Diegotxe in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orlando Lucas scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurinho de Brito, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 18 minutes, Luís Fábio Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PIRIPERI FC and the Aguilhadas players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Abreu in the 33rd minute of play forced PIRIPERI FC's goalkeeper Horacio Diegotxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Aguilhadas's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Lucas came free, but Maurinho de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurinho de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Lucas in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, PIRIPERI FC's goalkeeper Horacio Diegotxe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Paulo Paulista. The crowd rose to their feet as Aguilhadas's Caco Senna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Horacio Diegotxe. That made the score 1-1 after 39 minutes of play. Enio Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Horacio Diegotxe made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Paulista in the 46th minute of play forced PIRIPERI FC's goalkeeper Horacio Diegotxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horacio Diegotxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enio Abreu made a kick off. Luiz Paulo Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PIRIPERI FC's Horacio Diegotxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Abreu in the 55th minute of play. Horacio Diegotxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Salgado in the 57th minute of play. Horacio Diegotxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Abreu in the 61st minute of the match. When Enio Couto came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the PIRIPERI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enio Couto couldn't finish the play. Tomás Godoi's late challenge caught a PIRIPERI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Godoi helped the player get up and apologised. Tomás Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Adelino Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PIRIPERI FC's Orlando Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Maurinho de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Aguilhadas booed when PIRIPERI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball.
