When Waldir Travassos, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 14 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Américo Vieira was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 15th match minute, llans Football was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato Queirós to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Bacururu EC's Vítor Silva in action when he in the 19th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. Wágner Mineiro charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Paraíba got free with Américo Vieira in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Waldemar Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match, Toninho Paraíba got a very nice opportunity to score, but Américo Vieira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
