Aguilhadas's Luiz Paulo Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Waldemar Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Proença in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurinho de Brito saved Aguilhadas from getting behind. When Waldemar Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the llans Football fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Silveira couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
After a defensive mix-up in Aguilhadas's zone, Rony Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho de Brito came out of the goal and Rony Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enio Abreu's late challenge caught a llans Football's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enio Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Aguilhadas's Enio Abreu got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to llans Football getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Horácio da Mata hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes, Aguilhadas's Enio Abreu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Américo Vieira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aguilhadas reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caco Senna in the 68th minute of play forced llans Football's goalkeeper Américo Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Caco Senna notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of llans Football's Américo Vieira. Américo Vieira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Mineiro got free with Maurinho de Brito in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Aguilhadas booed when llans Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enio Abreu didn't quite understand what happened when in the 88 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Maurinho de Brito came out of the goal and Alfredão Meira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurinho de Brito made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Waldemar Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Aguilhadas's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
