With a little luck, Quijingue's Cacá Valladares got control of the ball when Hortêncio Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Taboquinho AD's Washington Magalhães got a free kick in the 25th minute. Cássio Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortêncio Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cacá Valladares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hortêncio Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. When Quijingue's Danilo Britto in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taboquinho AD's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilmar Vianna during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hortêncio Santana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cacá Valladares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The referee ignored Quijingue's protests and gave Eliseu Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. With a left leg Ciro Dantas saved Taboquinho AD from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl de Medeiros in the 74th minute of play forced Taboquinho AD's goalkeeper Ciro Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quijingue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Quijingue's Cacá Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Magalhães in the 89th minute of play. Hortêncio Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quijingue were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Taboquinho AD's much stronger midfield.
