Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Club Atlético Minas's Edmílson Leal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Danilo Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Netto having to interfere. Aníbal Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Quijingue's Durvalino de Souza couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Club Atlético Minas. In the 9th minute, Sílvio Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Danilo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quijingue's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Britto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doni Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Túlio Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Danilo Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doni Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl de Medeiros in the 17th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Club Atlético Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Amaral to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Club Atlético Minas's Egídio Travassos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egídio Travassos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atlético Minas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egídio Travassos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Atlético Minas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Doni Netto had in the 21stth minute some difficulties stopping Durvalino de Souza's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Club Atlético Minas booed when Quijingue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Túlio Munhoz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Raúl de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danilo Britto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Doni Netto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Raúl de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Netto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Quijingue's Raúl de Medeiros got a free kick in the 42nd minute.

In the 53rd minute Raúl de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl de Medeiros scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doni Netto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Maurício Proença fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Minas's protests and gave Maurício Proença a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Club Atlético Minas got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Proença. Raúl de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Doni Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doni Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl de Medeiros in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Túlio Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Minas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quijingue the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Club Atlético Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Danilo Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doni Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 87 minutes, Danilo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quijingue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danilo Britto struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Doni Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quijingue. After having played for 95 minutes, Danilo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quijingue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quijingue's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
