Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Artur Barros took the kick off in the first half of the match. Reynaldo Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Baía do Penhasco's Arnaldo Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Gordura's goal looked a bit too open when Fiori Novaes came free, but Reynaldo Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tadeu Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gordura's protests and gave Tadeu Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gordura's Tadeu Maranhense got a free kick in the 8th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Baía do Penhasco's Celsinho Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Mendes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Celsinho Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Mendes having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Baía do Penhasco's Osvaldinho Peres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Mathias Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Cordeiro in the 25th minute of the match. Arnaldo Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Reynaldo Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordura's Reynaldo Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Barral in the 31st minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Celsinho Barral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gordura's Reynaldo Mendes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arnaldo Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Reynaldo Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celsinho Barral in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reynaldo Mendes saved Gordura from getting behind. Reynaldo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Peres in the 42nd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Celsinho Barral notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Gordura's Reynaldo Mendes. Reynaldo Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Gordura players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Baía do Penhasco were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celsinho Barral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Peres in the 53rd minute of play forced Gordura's goalkeeper Reynaldo Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Mendes was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Osvaldinho Peres capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Osvaldinho Peres really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celsinho Barral got free with Reynaldo Mendes in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gordura's Reynaldo Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Gordura from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Celsinho Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Mendes was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Celsinho Barrals short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Reynaldo Mendes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Osvaldinho Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Osvaldinho Peres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Reynaldo Mendes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnaldo Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reynaldo Mendes. That made the score 0-5 in the 73 minute of play. Arnaldo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Gordura defense, Celsinho Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Mendes. The Gordura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Mendes should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute, Osvaldinho Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celsinho Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Mendes made a huge save. The Gordura fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Baía do Penhasco were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
