SC Arapuca's Ernani de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Britto in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Arapuca's Falcão Messias got a free kick in the 6th minute. Paulão Paraense hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Bruninho Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hugo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ricardo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, one of Remo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for SC Arapuca. Oséias Nunes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Valério Antunes. 2-0. Valério Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Rosado in the 36th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes SC Arapuca got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr da Fonseca. Ernani de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 42 minutes of play, Remo's Hugo Leão made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernani de Moraes was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Leão made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arapuca's zone, Walmyr Britto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani de Moraes came out of the goal and Walmyr Britto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jardel Valle fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Arapuca's protests and gave Jardel Valle a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, one of SC Arapuca:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Arapuca. The referee gave Remo a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Caio Severo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Arapuca's Ernani de Moraes. 2-2. In the 64th minute, Remo's Claudinho Correia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ernani de Moraes. Ernani de Moraes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. In the 69th minute, Hugo Leão fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of SC Arapuca booed when Remo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Walmyr Britto came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Remo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr Britto couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ricardo Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Arapuca's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Rosado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valério Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Arapuca's Ernani de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save SC Arapuca from getting a goal against them. Ricardo Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Antunes having to interfere. Hugo Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ernani de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Arapuca's Falcão Messias got a free kick in the 90th minute. Ernani de Moraes made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Walmyr Britto sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Rosado in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valério Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Remo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
