Flávio Favoretto charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flávio Favoretto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Favoretto. Antônio Carlos de Lara took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremias Andrade. Jeremias Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jeremias Andrade made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Carlos de Lara in the 14th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos de Lara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeremias Andrade. Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Carlos de Lara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 31st minute, Clóvis Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 played minutes, Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's Maurício de Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Camal Camel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heidemann FC - FSCMZ reached it. In the 36th minute Luís Gustavo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Carlos de Lara in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremias Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Gustavo Corrêa got free with Jeremias Andrade in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jeremias Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Carlos de Lara in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremias Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 61 minutes into the match, Flávio Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeremias Andrade. In the 87th match minute, Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmílson Biba to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, Bahia's Válbson Barbosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeremias Andrade made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Magno Barreto struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Jeremias Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bahia. When the referee ended the match the Bahia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
