In the 2nd minute Teodosio Aguilera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wambasther Barthez was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Edmundo Mesquita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmundo Mesquita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Wambasther Barthez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dráuzio Pereira went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Lacothengo de Futiboloca's zone, Júlio Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wambasther Barthez came out of the goal and Júlio Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Secco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wambasther Barthez, 3-0. Paulo Pirani took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvaldo Borges. Edvaldo Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 24th match minute, Lacothengo de Futiboloca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Ramos to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Fausto Leal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lacothengo de Futiboloca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Edvaldo Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Leal in the 34th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teodosio Aguilera to strike the kick off in the second half. Gilvan Ramos's late challenge caught a Black Storm FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilvan Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. Gilvan Ramos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Fausto Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Edvaldo Borges made a huge save. The supporters of Lacothengo de Futiboloca booed when Black Storm FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Pirani who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Edvaldo Borges when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 62nd minute, Toninho Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edvaldo Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Aguilera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Black Storm FC's Alessandro Tavares seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alessandro Tavares the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Black Storm FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alessandro Tavares had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Black Storm FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Paulo Pirani placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When Dito Viana fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Black Storm FC's protests and gave Dito Viana a yellow card for diving instead. Black Storm FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Paulo Pirani scored to the left of an out of position Edvaldo Borges, making the score, 4-3. After a rather tough play, Black Storm FC's Dito Viana got a free kick in the 77th minute. After 81 played minutes Black Storm FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Secco. In the 85th match minute, Lacothengo de Futiboloca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Otoniel to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Luís Fabiano Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Storm FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fabiano Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wambasther Barthez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
