Eduard Polozov scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edvaldo Borges, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hudson Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 29 minutes, Wincent Pawlik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santo Amaro AC and the Black Storm FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wincent Pawlik kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Black Storm FC's Edvaldo Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Polozov in the 34th minute of play. Edmundo Mesquita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Black Storm FC booed when Santo Amaro AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Santo Amaro AC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Mesquita came free, but Hudson Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Santo Amaro AC's Edvaldo Borges threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eduard Polozov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hudson Arósio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Storm FC. Santo Amaro AC's Wincent Pawlik got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Fabiano Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Hudson Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Batista's late challenge caught a Black Storm FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hudson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Júlio Martins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hudson Arósio was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The audience was convinced that Cipriano Hermes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvaldo Borges was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Black Storm FC's goalie and right to Cipriano Hermes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Black Storm FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
