The audience was convinced that Dragoş Ecobescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hudson Arósio was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. When Dragoş Ecobescu came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Atlético Acreano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dragoş Ecobescu couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the match, Atlético Acreano's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Hermes came free, but Valdomiro Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. With his leg Hudson Arósio managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Atlético Acreano's Dragoş Ecobescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Atlético Acreano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santo Amaro AC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dragoş Ecobescu to make the kick off.
