Matungo Gaúcho's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jerônimo Prestes in the 31st minute. A nice corner shot did that Jerônimo Prestes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alan Rosado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of New Ordem FC booed when Matungo Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guga Sabóia got free with Ademir Baptista in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anatol Hönes was the one to do the kick off.
