Tiaguinho Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Begley McWillie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiaguinho Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the game, Elivélton Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fireball Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monster Billy EC the free kick. Elivélton Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Cido da Silveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monster Billy EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ilie Grecescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Gaxan in the 22nd minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Monster Billy EC's corner Cido da Silveira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ilie Grecescu quite easily take care of the ball. In the 26th minute Aquilino Gaxan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Grecescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrézinho Miranda hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 29 played minutes Monster Billy EC got a freekick which was hit by Radomir Bakes. Begley McWillie was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Naldo Schmidt. 31 minutes into the match, Fireball Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Gaxan came free, but Ilie Grecescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Cido da Silveira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fireball Esporte Clube's Ilie Grecescu did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiaguinho Cavalcante got free with Begley McWillie in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Pereira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Begley McWillie came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilberto Pereira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 42nd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Magalhães to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Ilie Grecescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gilberto do Valle hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Gilberto do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monster Billy EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cido da Silveira took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilie Grecescu. Ilie Grecescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Fireball Esporte Clube's Ilie Grecescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Gaxan in the 64th minute of play. Ilie Grecescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aquilino Gaxan went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Radomir Bakes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monster Billy EC's Enio Vasconcelos was substituted for Giuseppe Falcão. Monster Billy EC's Begley McWillie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiaguinho Cavalcante in the 72nd minute of play. Ilie Grecescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cido da Silveira in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Pereira in the 76th minute of play forced Monster Billy EC's goalkeeper Begley McWillie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cido da Silveira scored 2-4 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilie Grecescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Monster Billy EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monster Billy EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
