When Carlinhos de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ewerton's protests and gave Carlinhos de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. Carlinhos de Souza hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Ewerton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laércio Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Marcel dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 57th minute, Fernandão Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Ewerton getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Elano Garcia hit a great ball. Rui Leal hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Duarte do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Laércio Damião put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Marcel dos Santos. União Verde FC played a much better game than Ewerton and deserved their victory. The Ewerton players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
