Juan Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés de Sousa hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Juan Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás de Amorim in the 8th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Oranil's zone, Rui Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Velloso came out of the goal and Rui Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Leal's late challenge caught a Oranil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Leal helped the player get up and apologised. Rui Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Ewerton booed when Oranil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ewerton's Elano Garcia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Oranil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Sanches in the 27th minute of play forced Oranil's goalkeeper Juan Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Oranil's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Sanches came free, but Juan Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel dos Santos was a little too slow when Sérgio das Neves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-0. Oranil's Juan Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Sanches in the 33rd minute of play. Kléber Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel dos Santos having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Bruninho Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute of the match, Hílton Cosme got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcel dos Santos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marcel dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Saldanha in the 39th minute of play. Ewerton's Enio Sanches got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Tomás de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléber Saldanha took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel dos Santos. Marcel dos Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Enio Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Oranil getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Nilson Leão hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Oranil's zone, Elano Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Velloso came out of the goal and Elano Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kiko Teixeira charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kiko Teixeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, Oranil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Donato Maranhense had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 65 minutes into the game, Nilson Leão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oranil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ewerton the free kick. Nilson Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Tomás de Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás de Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Oranil's zone, Rui Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Velloso came out of the goal and Rui Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 80 minutes, Tomás de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ewerton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th match minute, Oranil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás de Amorim got free with Juan Velloso in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the match, Tomás de Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Velloso. Oranil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás de Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The Ewerton players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Oranil from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
