In the 15th minute Reginaldo Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Tião Donato could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Paulo José Queiroz however easily saved by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Tião Donato kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo José Queiroz. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. Refik Halit Süngü might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo José Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Refik Halit Süngü ran back to his position shaking his head. Tião Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Jairo Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benê Lago charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benê Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Arapapa booed when C.A.Guimarães was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Lima in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Couto saved C.A.Guimarães from getting behind. Tião Donato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Paulo José Queiroz made a huge save. Sílvio Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Lima in the 46th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serginho Baiano during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to C.A.Guimarães getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Serginho Baiano hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Sílvio Couto stood somewhat misplaced when Jairo Lima came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 52 minute. Sílvio Couto made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Jairo Lima sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th minute, Carlos Eduardo Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo José Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Refik Halit Süngü, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Lima struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Arapapa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.Guimarães the free kick. After 70 played minutes C.A.Guimarães got a freekick which was hit by Tião Donato. 77 minutes into the match, Arapapa's goal looked a bit too open when Tião Donato came free, but Paulo José Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tostão Veiga hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Tião Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Guimarães's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tião Donato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serginho Baiano got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Serginho Baiano hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Benê Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Arapapa got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Veiga. When the final whistle sounded Arapapa left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than C.A.Guimarães.
