Remo Aguiar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. Remo Aguiar hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute of the match, Lúcio da Rocha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Raphael Penha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Mundial EC's zone, Cristiano Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raphael Penha came out of the goal and Cristiano Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mundial EC's Raphael Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Xavier in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio da Rocha in the 34th minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Raphael Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Penha was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexsandro Correia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 37 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lúcio da Rocha got free with Raphael Penha in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Mundial EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raphael Penha should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the FC La Masia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
