Clube União Popular's Rodrigo Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Clube União Popular from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Clube União Popular booed when Cascavel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Clube União Popular's Rodrigo Amorim got control of the ball when Yuri Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Yuri Paraibano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rodrigo Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Paraibano in the 25th minute of play forced Clube União Popular's goalkeeper Rodrigo Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes of play Clube União Popular's Ruy Brito was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ruy Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Yuri Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cascavel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute Fabinho Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Paraibano in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Amorim saved Clube União Popular from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Vergílio to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Percy Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Clube União Popular's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Paraibano came free, but Rodrigo Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60thth minute of the game Mazinho de Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube União Popular's Rodrigo Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Percy Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuri Paraibano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Rodrigo Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Paraibano in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the match Cascavel got a corner. Clube União Popular's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ismael Paraibano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Cascavel's Ismael Paraibano to fire away a dangerous shot which Rodrigo Amorim despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Cascavel booed when Clube União Popular was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arí Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luiz das Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Yuri Paraibano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodrigo Amorim was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabinho Reis during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fabinho Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cascavel fully deserved thier win.
