Gaston Sessa was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrico Carvalho got free with Jorginho Vaz in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Arce in the 17th minute of play forced Universidade Celestial FC's goalkeeper Gaston Sessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dionysos Pezos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Jorginho Vaz made a huge save. Gaston Sessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute 任浩默 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Sessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Universidade Celestial FC's Gaston Sessa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 任浩默 in the 24th minute of play. Universidade Celestial FC's Mathias Zanussi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tostão Mota in the 25 minute of the game. In the 31st minute Holger Zachrisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Sessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by 任浩默 in the 32nd minute of play forced Universidade Celestial FC's goalkeeper Gaston Sessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 任浩默 in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaston Sessa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorginho Vaz made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Dionysos Pezos sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, Jorge Figueiredo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gaston Sessa. Universidade Celestial FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Figueiredo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Universidade Celestial FC's Miguel Campidelis got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 任浩默 missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 45 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Gaston Sessa right hand side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, 任浩默 took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Gaston Sessa to make any attempt to save it. After 54 played minutes Universidade Celestial FC got a freekick which was hit by Enrico Carvalho. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Andreas Pirlo hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Enrico Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universidade Celestial FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrico Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorginho Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the game, Eugênio Negri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universidade Celestial FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portuguesa the free kick. A collision led to Universidade Celestial FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Eugênio Negri hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Dionysos Pezos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felipe Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th minute of the match Portuguesa got a corner. Universidade Celestial FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 任浩默 ran over to the corner to take the kick. Felipe Arce made a great header on Portuguesa's corner, it was just that Universidade Celestial FC's Gaston Sessa managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 81st minute Holger Zachrisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Sessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portuguesa's David de Alcântara was substituted for Holger Zachrisson. Portuguesa's Silvério Bittencourt was substituted for Andreas Pirlo. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Universidade Celestial FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Zanussi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaston Sessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Portuguesa left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Universidade Celestial FC.
