The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulão Medeiros scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cezar Ivasiuc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 7th minute, Paulão Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montesclarense E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 10th minute, Paulão Medeiros made a precise shot to the right of Cezar Ivasiuc. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Luizão Bueno's late challenge caught a Montesclarense E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luizão Bueno helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Luizão Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Florian Patrylo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cezar Ivasiuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 minutes, Paulão Medeiros made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Cezar Ivasiuc tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Paulão Medeiros put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Cezar Ivasiuc. Cezar Ivasiuc came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros. But to his dismay, Paulão Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. In the 40th minute, Wally Lawson made a precise shot to the right of Cezar Ivasiuc. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-10. In the 43rdth minute of the game Paulão Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Cezar Ivasiuc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 0-11 became the score in the 44th minute when Paulão Medeiros elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulão Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s Florian Patrylo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cezar Ivasiuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Paulão Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cezar Ivasiuc was a little too slow when Paulão Medeiros got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-12. After having played for 58 minutes, Paulão Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulão Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th minute Cafu Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cezar Ivasiuc made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Paulão Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd minute Montesclarense E.C. were awarded a corner. Ernani Tavares went to the cornerflag to take it. Montesclarense E.C.'s André Luís Schmidt was substituted for Paulão Medeiros. A sloppy throw-in by Javier Juarez in the 69th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Montesclarense E.C.'s Florian Patrylo. André Luís Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezar Ivasiuc having to interfere. André Luís Schmidt might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cezar Ivasiuc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Luís Schmidt ran back to his position shaking his head. Montesclarense E.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
