Warsaw Cowal's Carlos Fernando Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Falcão in the 3rd minute of play. After 6 played minutes Warsaw Cowal got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Mendonça. Warsaw Cowal's Jean Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Gilberto de Godoi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alfonso Taraborrelli. The goal made the score 1-0. Job Middel kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Marcus Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Carlos Fernando Dionísio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute Toninho Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Fernando Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Job Middel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute of the match Dorian Cavalcante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Fernando Dionísio skillfully saved the ball. BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save BOTAFOGO from getting a goal against them. Marcus Azevedo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Warsaw Cowal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sílvio Gaspar in the 43rd minute. Jean Neto had several of the BOTAFOGO's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 46 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Alfonso Taraborrelli as he didn't even see the shot coming.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Jaanek Oese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Fernando Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Neto in the 52nd minute of the match. Jean Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toninho Madureira struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Carlos Fernando Dionísio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BOTAFOGO. BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean Neto in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 64 played minutes BOTAFOGO got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Correia. Alfonso Taraborrelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Neto in the 65th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Warsaw Cowal's Robinho Ferreira got a free kick in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Warsaw Cowal's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Falcão came free, but Carlos Fernando Dionísio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeca Donato hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When Toninho Madureira came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the BOTAFOGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Madureira couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Jean Neto made a precise shot to the right of Alfonso Taraborrelli. BOTAFOGO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Warsaw Cowal's Mário Cardoso was substituted for Zeca Donato. Warsaw Cowal's Sílvio Luiz Miranda was substituted for Gilberto de Godoi. BOTAFOGO's Toninho Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Neto in the 83rd minute of play forced BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BOTAFOGO were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Warsaw Cowal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dorian Cavalcante took the corner. A collision led to Warsaw Cowal getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Robinho Ferreira hit a great ball. Dorian Cavalcante received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Fernando Dionísio came out and tried to block the shot, but Dorian Cavalcante slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 88th minute. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Édouard Deloge took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Carlos Fernando Dionísio to make any attempt to save it. In the 95th minute Robinho Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Taraborrelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jean Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Alfonso Taraborrelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
