Jano Bezerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Dragões de Campo Grande's Zé Paulo Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jano Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in SANTOS FC- FDFDF's zone, Raimundo Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jano Bezerra came out of the goal and Raimundo Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luizinho Cordeiro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Zé Paulo Trancoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jano Bezerra having to make a save. Breno Brodel charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Brodel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, SANTOS FC- FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Brodel to maneuver through the defense. When Gandalf Bilbo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Dragões de Campo Grande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gandalf Bilbo couldn't finish the play. Jano Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gandalf Bilbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute there was a penalty for Dragões de Campo Grande. Mané Martins stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jano Bezerra. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Paulo Trancoso to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Dragões de Campo Grande's Gandalf Bilbo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Dragões de Campo Grande's Gandalf Bilbo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jano Bezerra. That made the score 0-5 after 59 minutes of play. When SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Kléber Botelho in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Perivaldo Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute Kléber Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind SANTOS FC- FDFDF's goalkeeper Jano Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gandalf Bilbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Paulo Trancoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute, Zé Paulo Trancoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardinho Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléber Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 78th minute, Kléber Botelho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SANTOS FC- FDFDF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. 89 minutes into the game, Edgar Paulista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SANTOS FC- FDFDF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragões de Campo Grande the free kick. After 89 played minutes SANTOS FC- FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Paulista. After having played for 91 minutes, Zé Paulo Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragões de Campo Grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SANTOS FC- FDFDF booed when Dragões de Campo Grande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlindo Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardinho Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Salles in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dragões de Campo Grande eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
