Hugo Tróia hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Alfredo Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Albertinho Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Pedro de Senna hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Gerson do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Barcelona F.C getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Hugo Tróia hit a great ball. Hugo Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elano Alves got free with Albertinho Gonçalves in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Barcelona F.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elano Alves was slow to take the kick. During this time Rockets's players had a chance to rest. In the 46th minute Willian Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Elano Alves made the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willian Teles in the 52nd minute of play. Elano Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Albertinho Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Barcelona F.C getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Hugo Tróia hit a great ball. With 78 minutes on the clock, José Maria Fernandes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 79th minute, Eriberto Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barcelona F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
